Top features of the Aircontact Core 45+10 SL
Innovative back system features for comfortable load control
Our new VariClick system offers five-stage back length adjustment for a tailored fit. This easy-to-use feature benefits from an audible ‘click’ when in position and because it stems from the center of the pack creates an evenly adjusted length. The new ActiveBalance shoulder straps have a pivoting shoulder panel that moves independently from the pivoting VariFlex hip fins for greater load stability and a more central positioning of the pack. While two anchor positions for the stabilizer straps adapt to the size of the person carrying the pack. The ECL (ergonomic comfort lock) system transfers the load effectively onto the hips. The Y-shaped aluminum frame gives the pack stability and, combined with the breathable Air Spacer mesh on the Aircontact back system, generates maximum airflow across the back. Continuous one-piece padding for the hip fins and shoulder straps cuts out pressure spots and increases the carrying comfort.
Easy-access large zipper opening
A wide, U-shaped zipper on the front makes the backpack contents easy to locate and access.
On-the-move hip fin pockets and side pockets
Large side pockets which can be accessed from both sides, and generous hip fin pockets provide extra storage and better organization for items that need to be within reach. A zip-out 1.5-liter bottle holster in one of the hip fin pockets also lets you hydrate on the move.

SL Women’s Fit
This model is also available in the SL version. The SL back length is specific for women: on average, women have shorter backs than men. The carrying system in the SL model is therefore somewhat shorter than in the deuter standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy. More information about our fits.
Energy-saving carrying comfort
thanks to the precise ergonomics of the back system.
Good Ventilation
thanks to channels between the padding and the use of breathable 3D mesh.
The benefits
By distributing the load evenly, it saves energy and results in a more relaxed spine when carrying heavier loads. Effective ventilation across the back creates improved comfort and also saves energy.
Made without PFAS
This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.

ClimatePartner certified product
By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects.
