The easiest way to carry heavy loads comfortably is to have your backpack and carrier form a single unit. Our Contact carrying system keeps the weight close to the body's center of gravity. This guarantees full control and effective load transfer - even in demanding terrain.
Made without PFAS
This deuter product was manufactured by us without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS is used, among other things, as a coating for rain protection, as they have water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
Instead, deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellency) impregnation, which is harmless to health and environmentally friendly.

By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects. In the 06/18 edition, MOUNTAINBIKE magazine tested 10 Alpencross backpacks. The Deuter Trans Alpine 30 was nominated as its value for money tip.
“Conclusion: The Alpencross backpack classic is far from yesteryear. Features such as the thickly padded shoulder straps and the adjustable back section illustrate the maturity of this item. The carrying comfort is as high as you would expect, just the fit on technical trail descents should be tighter. The layout of the compartments strikes the right balance between organisation and visibility, the carry system makes it a bit heavy.”
