Description
deuter celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2023 and thus launches an Anniversary Edition - in classic black and with a very special graphic. This is a tribute to the history of alpinism and the claim of deuter to continue to shape the mountain sports with innovations. The Airstripes back system with low back support and large ventilation channels, as well as the perforated shoulder straps and hip fins provide optimal air circulation, a weight distribution close to the body and thus a compact fit in any terrain. The flat lid design offers good headroom - even with a helmet. Thanks to fixations on the shoulder straps, the carabiners of the via ferrata set are always within reach. In addition, equipment and material are quickly at hand thanks to large zippered front access and side pockets.

- > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.
Top features of the Trail 22 SL
SUPERIOR VENTILATION FOR A DRY BACK
The reduced contact surface and large ventilation channels of the deuter Airstripes back system combined with perforated shoulder straps and hip fins ensure maximum airflow. The back system also distributes the pack’s weight close to the body for a snug, secure fit over any terrain.

SAFE ON VIA FERRATAS
Loops on the shoulder straps keep the carabiners of the via ferrata set close at hand. That, combined with the backpack’s compact, snug fit provides enhanced safety when climbing fixed-rope routes.

PRACTICAL FEATURES FOR FAST ACTION
Thanks to a large front zipper opening and elastic front stash pocket, equipment and gear are always readily at hand, yet compactly stowed.

AIRSTRIPES SYSTEM

SL Women’s Fit
This model is also available in the SL version. The SL back length is specific for women: on average, women have shorter backs than men. The carrying system in the SL model is therefore somewhat shorter than in the Deuter standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy. More information about our fits.

Our unique Airstripes System takes care of that and offers effective ventilation. It consists of two contoured, air-channelled foam profiles that are covered with a highly breathable Wide AirMesh lining. The reduced contact surface results in an optimized fresh air circulation. Also, the pack’s load is kept close to the body and thus won’t throw the rider off balance.
THE RESULT:
The minimal contact surface area of the profiled Airstripes allows free air circulation over 80 % of the back, while still providing a secure, compact fit.

Made without PFAS
This deuter product was manufactured by us without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS is used, among other things, as a coating for rain protection, as they have water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
Instead, deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellency) impregnation, which is harmless to health and environmentally friendly.

100% recycled PET material
The fabrics used for this model are made of post-consumer PET bottles.
