CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION GUIDE ULTRA & EXPEDITION ULTRA PROMOTION

Terms & Conditions

Participation in the competition run by deuter Sport GmbH, Daimlerstraße 23, 86368 Gersthofen, Germany – hereinafter referred to as the “organizer” – is governed by the following terms & conditions.

Participation in the competition is limited to successful registrations. By registering, participants agree to the following terms and conditions. Entries can only be submitted up until the closing date. Any registrations received after the closing date will not be considered.

The competition entry period begins on 02.05.2025 at 0:01 (Berlin or CEST time zone) and ends on 30.09.2025 at 23:59 (Berlin or CEST time zone).

 

Eligibility

The competition is open to all natural persons who are over the age of 18 years (hereinafter referred to as “participants”) and resident in one of the following countries:

  • Germany

Employees of the organizer (deuter Sport GmbH) and any subsidiary companies and family members are not eligible for participation in the competition. The organizer also reserves the right, at its discretion, to exclude persons from participation where there are justifiable reasons for doing so, e.g. in the event of:

a)      tampering with the running of the competition

b)      violation of these terms & conditions

c)      false or misleading information provided for participation in the competition

 

Guide Ultra Prize

For this prize (a 3-day adventure with Tamara Lunger), participants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Be very fit and surefooted: Long ascents and exposed terrain will require physical fitness and good foot placement.
  • Have previous alpine experience: You should be familiar with rope techniques, how to use crampons and able to negotiate climbing sections (UIAA I–III).
  • Have a good head for heights & be mentally stable: Elevations, sheer drops and exposed passages should not be an issue.
  • Responsible behavior in the mountains

 

Participants must also bring appropriate footwear, clothing, a helmet and other equipment. A packing list will be provided after the winners have been announced.
Participants agree to these conditions for taking part in this trip and confirm they are not aware of any health restrictions that could prevent them from participating in this trip.

 

Expedition Ultra Prize

For this prize (guided ascent of Aconcagua 6.960 hm all inclusive, 16-19 days incl. travel time and expedition) on the dates of 25.01.2026 to 12.02.2026 or 01.02.2026 to 19.02.2026, participants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Be physically fit enough to manage a 7,000-meter peak. In other words, have above-average stamina levels.
  • Have excellent circulation, or a healthy cardiovascular system.
  • Responsible behavior in the mountains

 

At https://grajales.net/en/faq_and_tips/ "Packing", participants can see what they need to bring with them. A packing list will be made available after the winners have been announced.

Participants agree to these conditions for taking part in this trip and confirm they are not aware of any health restrictions that could prevent them from participating in this trip.

 

Competition Entry

Competition entries can be made via deuter’s own website and on the partner websites of select deuter retailers in the above-mentioned countries.

Participating retailers can use their social media channels to draw attention to the possibility of registering on the website to take part in the competition.
Entries are made via the QR code located inside the corresponding product (Guide Ultra or Expedition Ultra), which will take participants to the web registration page.

Participation in the competition is limited to successful registrations that comply with the terms and conditions. By registering, participants agree to the following terms and conditions. Entries can only be submitted up until the closing date. 

The competition entry period begins on 02.05.2025 at 0:01 (Berlin or CEST time zone) and ends on 30.09.2025 at 23:59 (Berlin or CEST time zone).

Only one entry is accepted per participant.

 

Prizes, announcements and notification of prizes

The following prizes will be awarded:

Participants from all deuter retailers taking part in the competition will be entered into a draw to either win an adventure with Tamara Lunger over 3 days with half board, drinks, snacks and meals, between June and October 2026 at a total value of around €3,500 (Guide Ultra competition).
Or, they will be in with the chance of winning an expedition to climb Aconcagua, incl. food and accommodation, and return flights either on dates 1:  25.01.2026 - 12.02.2026 or option 2:  01.02.2026 - 19.02.2026, at a total value of  $6,290 / roughly €5,711 (Expedition Ultra competition).

The organizer reserves the right to use other workshop leaders if this person is unable to attend. deuter mountain guides will take care of the organizational and safety aspects of the trip. Participation is expressly at participants’ own risk. 

After the closing date, winners will be drawn from all registered entrants. The panel of judges will be made up of the organizer’s representatives.

Winners will be notified by email from the organizer within two weeks of the entry deadline. In the event of an undeliverable email, the organizer is not obliged to make further inquiries and may draw another winner. If winners do not respond within one week following notification, the organizer is also entitled to select a new winner.

The prize can only be issued to the winner. The prize cannot be transferred, exchanged, reclaimed or redeemed in cash. The winner is responsible for any tax liability on the prize.

The organizer reserves the right, at its discretion, to award a replacement prize of equal value if, for any reason, a prize described in these terms & conditions is unavailable or cannot be awarded, in whole or in part. If the real value of the prize is less than the retail price, where stated, they will not make up the difference in cash. The organizer does not provide assurances or guarantees on the appearance, safety or quality of the prizes. Restrictions, conditions and limitations on its use may apply. The organizer will not replace any lost or stolen prizes.

Should it not be possible to carry out or participate in the event, or should this only be possible to a limited extent due to force majeure – in particular as a result of natural disasters, war, terror, government directives, an epidemic or pandemic, technical outages, strikes, power or utility failures or other unforeseeable, unavoidable and serious events – any claim to the prize will be void. The organizer reserves the right to establish additional conditions of participation or safety measures in the interest of the health and safety of all participants. In such cases, participants are not entitled to substitute prizes, reimbursement of the value of the prize, alternative dates or reimbursement of costs incurred by themselves (in particular travel or accommodation costs).

 

Competition Termination

The organizer expressly reserves the right to suspend or terminate the competition at any time without prior notice and without providing reasons, or to amend these terms and conditions.

 

Data Protection

Personal data must be provided to participate in the competition. The participant declares that the personal details submitted by him/her, in particular first name, surname, email address and country of residence, are accurate and correct. In the case of material prizes, further personal data such as a postal address will be requested from winners as part of the prize notification process once the entry period has passed. Collection and processing of personal data is exclusively for the purposes of the competition and, where applicable, for sending prizes. Data will only be stored for the purpose and duration of the competition and will be deleted at the end of the competition, unless there are any legal obligations to hold this data. The organizer will only share data with Social Pals GmbH and the parties involved in the prize trip, insofar as it is essential for the purposes of the trip.

The winning persons agree to the publication of their names and place of residence in any advertising media used by the organizer.

Participants may at any time request to see what data is stored by the organizer, revoke its use and request its deletion. To do this, they can simply write to deuter Sport GmbH, Daimlerstraße 23, 86368 Gersthofen, Germany, or send an email to privacy@deuter.com.

Rights Assignment

By entering the competition, participants agree to grant the organizer, free of charge, the unrestricted right to use photographs, images, videos or sound recordings of the winners taken during the trips for publication and communication purposes in relation to the competition. These rights are granted for an unlimited period of time.

 

Facebook Disclaimer

The competition is not affiliated with Facebook/Instagram and is in no way sponsored, endorsed or organized by Facebook/Instagram. The organizer is the sole responsible party and point of contact.

 

Liability

The organizer is not liable for any damages caused by errors, delays or breakdowns in communication, malfunctions of technical equipment and services, incorrect content, loss or deletion of data, viruses or any other damage caused by participation in the competition, unless such damages were caused intentionally or by gross negligence on the part of the organizer (its officers, employees or subcontractors). The above liability limitations do not apply in the event of injury to life, limb or health or in the event of any maliciously concealed defects.

Guide Ultra

deuter assumes partial responsibility for the organization and/or handling of the prize trip offered in this competition. Individual travel provisions (e.g. transportation, accommodation, activities) are carried out in cooperation with third party providers or tour operators over whose provision of services deuter does not have full control.

deuter is not liable for service disruptions, damage or cancellations in connection with the trip, insofar as these are caused by third parties or lie outside deuter’s sphere of influence. Liability on the part of deuter is limited to foreseeable damages – except in cases of willful misconduct and gross negligence or breach of essential contractual obligations. Liability for damages resulting from injury to life, limb or health or in accordance with mandatory statutory provisions (e.g. German law on product liability) remains unaffected.

Complaints in connection with specific travel services should be addressed directly to the relevant service provider or tour operator.

Expedition Ultra

deuter is the sole sponsor of the prize and is providing the financial resources for the entire prize (see “Prizes, announcements and notification of prizes”). The organization, booking, execution and all associated aspects of the trip are carried out solely by the tour operator or agency responsible for the trip. deuter assumes no responsibility or liability whatsoever pertaining to the correct execution of the trip, or for service disruptions, damages, delays, cancellations or other inconveniences in connection with the trip.

Any liability on the part of deuter is limited to cases of willful misconduct, gross negligence or injury to life, limb or health, unless otherwise stipulated by mandatory statutory provisions. Any claims in connection with this trip should be addressed directly to the relevant service provider. 

Governing Law

The competition is subject exclusively to the laws of the Republic of Germany. There is no legal right to appeal.

 

Severability clause

If one of the provisions of these terms and conditions is found to be or becomes invalid or unenforceable either in whole or in part, the remainder of the terms and conditions still apply. In place of the unenforceable provision, the legally permissible provision that comes closest in economic terms to the meaning and purpose expressed in the invalid provision will apply. The same applies in the case of a loophole in these terms and conditions.
