1. General Information and Role Clarification
Participation in the contest of deuter Sport GmbH, Daimlerstraße 23, 86368 Gersthofen, Germany hereinafter referred to as "DEUTER", is free of charge and is governed exclusively by these conditions of participation.
It is hereby expressly clarified that deuter Sport GmbH is solely organizing the selection procedure ("contest") but not the trip or any of its parts.
The Namibia Tourism Board is a partner and sponsor of this campaign but assumes no responsibility for the execution of the campaign, the travel program, flights, or any other services.
SDA/LRE is the official tour operator for the DEFENDER Experience Trip in Namibia, scheduled for May 2025, with the travel itinerary commencing and concluding in Windhoek. The tour operator’s general terms and conditions (GTC) apply to the trip. By participating in the campaign, participants acknowledge and agree to these terms.
Changes to the travel itinerary may occur. The tour operator is not responsible for flight arrangements to and from Namibia.
Each participant is solely responsible for arriving on time in Frankfurt, ensuring a minimum arrival time of three (3) hours before departure for the flight to Windhoek.
The round-trip flights from Frankfurt to Windhoek and back are sponsored and booked by the agency Weltmeisteron behalf of the participants. Each participant is responsible for correctly providing their personal data for ticket issuance.
In the event of non-participation due to a last-minute cancellation or a self-inflicted delay, the participant shall be liable for the full cost of the round-trip ticket (Frankfurt–Windhoek–Frankfurt).
Flights are booked in Economy Class, including one (1) piece of carry-on luggage and one (1) checked baggage item (max. 20kg). Seat reservations, excess baggage, or any additional services are not included in the sponsored flights.
The program as outlined is included as well as Food & Water for meals, all other beverages need to be covered by the participants themselves.
Each participant is solely responsible for obtaining and covering all necessary travel documents and insurances, including but not limited to:
- Visa
- International Driver's Licence
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry)
- Travel health insurance
- Insurance for luggage or equipment
- Any other required documentation and associated costs
DEUTER sincerely thanks the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) and Defender Experience for their generous contribution to make this great event possible including the flights from Frankfurt, Germany to Windhoek, Namibia and back, which are organized by NTB.
Transfers to Frankfurt airport, timely arrival also in view of the flight to Windhoek and any related travel preparations are the sole responsibility of the participants, including timely Visa application which is required for Namibia from April 1st, 2025 (for information purposes please consult https://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/de/service/laender/namibia-node/namibiasicherheit-208314 ).
No claim to participation in the contest is hereby established.
2. Eligible participants
Natural persons, who have reached the age of 18, hereinafter referred to as "participant(s)",
are eligible to participate. Participation is not limited to customers of DEUTER and is not dependent on the purchase of goods or services.
Employees of DEUTER and its affiliated companies and their family members are not eligible to participate in the competition. In addition, DEUTER reserves the right, at its own discretion,
to exclude persons from participation if there are justified reasons, for example.
a) in the event of manipulation in connection with the implementation of the competition,
b) in the event of breaches of these conditions of participation,
c) in the event of false or misleading information in connection with participation in the competition.
3. Selection Procedure and Award
The contest is conducted as a selection procedure rather than a lottery. Six (6) winners will be selected based on the quality, creativity, and alignment of their submitted content with DEUTER’s values of sustainability, quality, and outdoor exploration. Each winner will receive a Duffel Pro Roller & Duffel Pro Pack set and an all-inclusive trip to Namibia. The evaluation of content and selection of the winners will be conducted internally by a jury consisting of representatives of DEUTER and the Namibia Tourism Board.
Participants must confirm that they are in good health, fit for travel, and that they are not aware of any health restrictions that would prevent them from taking part in the trip. Please note that DEUTER is not responsible for organizing travel arrangements.
The selection and evaluation criteria for winners are determined solely by DEUTER and the Namibia Tourism Board. There is no legal claim to being selected. DEUTER is not obligated to provide reasons for any non-selection.
4. Participation
Participation in the Content Creator Contest takes place via DEUTER's official website at www.deuter.com/travel-contest-namibia. To enter, each applicant must submit their travel plans and answer a series of questions, explaining why they want to be part of this exciting adventure. Additionally, participants are required to submit a fully completed entry form.
When entering the contest, participants need to provide some essential personal information, including first and last name, a valid email address for contact, participant*s Instagram account name, and participant*s country of origin.
Only fully completed entry forms including answered questions will be entered into the contest. By submitting the entry form, participants accept these conditions of participation. Participation is only possible until the closing date. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
The period to register for participation in the contest begins on February 14, 2025, at 00:01 (CET) and ends on March 28, 2025, at 23:59 (CET).
Only one submitted registration per participant will be entered into the contest.
The trip to Namibia will take place from 12.05.2025 to 19.05.2025.
5. Content Creation Requirement
From all applicants, six applicants will be selected. Each participant must create photo and video content with DEUTERS Duffel Pro Roller & Duffel Pro Pack Travel products during the trip. It is important that the images are shot in RAW. Furthermore, participants are required to deliver finished Instagram Reels and additional video content in portrait format.
6. Award Details
The six winners of the Content Creator Contest will receive an all-inclusive trip to Namibia.
This includes flights, transportation within Namibia, accommodation, sightseeing, meals and drinks. Additionally, each winner will receive DEUTER´S upcoming travel products Duffel Pro Roller & Duffel Pro Pack, which must be used for traveling to, through and back from Namibia and will need to be returned to DEUTER at the end of the trip. The winners will be selected based on the quality and reach of their content, as well as how well they align with DEUTER’s values of sustainability, quality, and outdoor exploration.
The 6 winners are responsible for arranging and paying for their travel to and from Frankfurt Airport, as well as a valid visa for Namibia.
DEUTER reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award a substitute prize of an appropriate value if a prize described in these official rules is not available or cannot be awarded in whole or in part for any reason. DEUTER makes no representations or warranties as to the appearance, security or quality of the prizes. Restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. DEUTER will not replace lost or stolen prizes as soon as the winner has received the prize.
DEUTER reserves the right to interrupt or terminate the trip or to amend these conditions of participation only under reasonable circumstances and after making reasonable efforts.
Any such action shall be communicated to the affected participants in a timely manner.
If the trip is interrupted or terminated, no claims for damages or compensation against DEUTER shall arise on the part of the participants.
Data protection
Personal data, such as first name, surname, e-mail address and country must be provided
in order to participate in the contest. In the case of non-cash prizes, further personal data,
such as address will be requested from the winners. The participant assures that the personal details provided are true and correct.
The collection and processing of personal data serves exclusively to carry out the contest and,
if applicable, to send the prizes. The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. All data will only be stored for the purpose and for the duration of the trip and will be deleted at the end of the campaign, provided there are no statutory retention obligations.
The data will only be passed on by DEUTER to the parties involved in the implementation of the trip if this is absolutely necessary for the implementation.
In the event of a win, the winning person agrees to the publication of their name and country of residence in the advertising media used by DEUTER. This includes the announcement of the winning person on DEUTER's website and its social media platforms as well as reporting during and after the event via DEUTER's social media platforms, print products and its website.
Participants can obtain information about their data stored by DEUTER at any time, object to the use of their data and request its deletion. A simple letter to deuter Sport GmbH, Daimlerstraße 23, 86368 Gersthofen, Germany or an e-mail to privacy@deuter.com is sufficient for this purpose.
Furthermore, by agreeing to these terms and conditions, the participant also agrees to DEUTER´s privacy policy, accessible at Data Privacy Policy of deuter.
8. Granting of rights by the winners
By participating in the contest, the participants hereby grant DEUTER a non-exclusive,
royalty-free right to use, reproduce, and distribute images, videos, or sound recordings (hereinafter 'the content') captured during the trip for publication and communication purposes.
The right of use is granted without any temporal or geographical restrictions.
Furthermore, the winner declares that no third party has any rights to, on, or in connection with the content that all releases, approvals, or consents required for DEUTER´s use of the content have been obtained, and that the participant is fully authorized and empowered to enter into this agreement.
The participant releases the company from any claims by third parties that may arise from the breach of this contract in connection with the use of the content to the extent that such breaches are attributable to the participant. This includes the necessary costs of legal defense.
9. Meta disclaimer
The contest is in no way connected to Meta/Instagram and is in no way sponsored, supported
or organized by Meta/Instagram. DEUTER alone is the contact person and responsible party.
10. Liability
Just for clarity, DEUTER is not responsible for any aspect of its organization or execution.
Any and all claims or liabilities arising from or connected with the trip through Namibia starting and ending in Windhoek must therefore be directed exclusively to Land Rover Experience c/o Self Driver Adventure (Pty.) Ltd., PO Box 86566, Eros, Windhoek, Namibia.
DEUTER shall not be liable for any damages arising from errors, delays, or interruptions in transmission, malfunctions of technical equipment or services, incorrect content, loss or deletion of data, viruses, or any other disruptions occurring during participation in the contest, except in cases of intentional or gross negligence on the part of DEUTER (including its officers, employees, or agents). This limitation of liability does not apply in cases of injury to life, limb,
or health or in the event of fraudulently concealed defects.
Participation in the contest as well as the planning and execution of the journey is undertaken solely at the participant’s risk. DEUTER shall not be liable for any damages incurred during the journey, except where liability cannot be excluded by mandatory statutory provisions.
Notwithstanding the above, any statutory rights that cannot be waived or limited under applicable law remain unaffected.
11. Applicable law
The contest is subject exclusively to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. Legal recourse is excluded.
12. Severability clause
Should any provision of these conditions of participation be or become invalid in whole or in part, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these conditions of participation. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a legally permissible provision that comes as close as possible to the economic meaning and purpose of the invalid provision. The same applies in the event of a loophole in these conditions of participation.
