Alpine features for adaptability
With removable hip fins and lid, gear loops and straps, ice axe attachments on both sides, ski attachments at the side, a rope strap, mesh helmet flap and the option to extend the capacity, this backpack has everything you need for alpine endeavors. Whether it’s while wearing a climbing harness moving over exposed terrain, or with skis strapped to the sides for the final steep ascent to the summit, the Guide backpack opens near endless possibilities in the mountains.
Durable materials for reliability
The body fabric is 100% recycled ripstop, making it highly robust, durable and resistant to abrasion. It also protects contents effectively from moisture, dust and contact with rock. Buckles in lightweight, weatherproof material give the pack even safer handling and a longer lifespan.
Optimal back system for controlled movement
The deuter Alpine back system delivers a solid, secure fit so the pack doesn’t impede agility in challenging alpine terrain, while also offering superior comfort. An ergonomically shaped PE backplate with a sewn-in spring steel frame maintains the pack’s shape and offers stability, no matter how big the load. And it ensures carrying comfort and stability at minimal weight. Side compression straps also allow the volume of the pack to be cinched in close to your center of gravity.

SL Women’s Fit
This model is also available in the SL version. The SL back length is specific for women: on average, women have shorter backs than men. The carrying system in the SL model is therefore somewhat shorter than in the deuter standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy. More information about our fits.
Good Ventilation
thanks to channels between the back padding, covered in breathable mesh fabric.
Compact fit
thanks to the body-hugging ergonomics of the back padding and carry system.
The benefits
The solid, secure fit makes it easier to maintain balance, even in challenging terrain, and make controlled movements. The ergonomics and reliable ventilation also add to the carrying comfort.
Made without PFAS
This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.
Green Button certified product
The Green Button is a government-run certification label for sustainable textiles. Everyone who aims to purchase socially and environmentally sustainable clothes should look out for the Green Button. There is currently no other label like the Green Button. It demands that mandatory standards are met to protect people and the environment. A total of 46 stringent social and environmental criteria must be met, covering a wide spectrum from wastewater to forced labour. Read more information here.
bluesign® product
Consumer products that carry the bluesign® product label conform to the strict safety and environmental requirements of the bluesign® system criteria. The textiles and accessories used to manufacture the products with the bluesign® approved label are produced in a way that saves valuable resources and has a minimum impact on people and the environment.
ClimatePartner certified product
By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects.
