Aircontact Ultra 35+5 SL
Backpacking packs
Specification
Description
This lightweight backpack benefits from an outstanding comfort-to-weight ratio (with a removable lid and compression straps when every gram counts). The deuter Aircontact back system equally keeps the weight down, but above all creates ventilation across the back. The length of the back is adjusted via Clip & Loop system and ergonomic hip fins create a snug, comfortable fit while distributing the load effectively. The hard-wearing ripstop body fabric made from performance fibers is also built to withstand the rigors of thru-hiking.

- > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.
Top features of the Aircontact Ultra 35+5 SL
EASY-ON-THE-BACK MESH COVERING
The reduced contact surface of the Aircontact back system's Air Spacer mesh cuts weight while generating increased ventilation across the back. The simple Clip & Loop back length adjustment and ergonomically shpaed hip fins create a tailored fit with superior carrying comfort over long distances.
LIGHT WEIGHT FOR MORE ENERGY
Reduced to the essentials, the lightweight pack expertly balances comfort and weight, so you can devote more energy to the trail. And its hardwearing ripstop fabric made from performance fibers means this pack can withstand anything you throw at it. The lid can be removed to shave off extra weight, using a drawcord and press stud closure to seal the main compartment.
MODULAR GEAR STRAPS FOR FLEXIBILITY
Depending on what you're undertaking, the lid can be detached, and the modular gear straps repositioned to attach a range of items.

SL Women’s Fit
This model is also available in the SL version. The SL back length is specific for women: on average, women have shorter backs than men. The carrying system in the SL model is therefore somewhat shorter than in the deuter standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system is specially adapted to the female anatomy. More information about our fits.
Energy-saving carrying comfort
thanks to the precise ergonomics of the back system.
Good Ventilation
thanks to channels between the padding and the use of breathable 3D mesh.
The benefits
By distributing the load evenly, it saves energy and results in a more relaxed spine when carrying heavier loads. Effective ventilation across the back creates improved comfort and also saves energy.
Made without PFAS
This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.
bluesign® product
Consumer products that carry the bluesign® product label conform to the strict safety and environmental requirements of the bluesign® system criteria. The textiles and accessories used to manufacture the products with the bluesign® approved label are produced in a way that saves valuable resources and has a minimum impact on people and the environment.
Green Button certified product
The Green Button is a government-run certification label for sustainable textiles. Everyone who aims to purchase socially and environmentally sustainable clothes should look out for the Green Button. There is currently no other label like the Green Button. It demands that mandatory standards are met to protect people and the environment. A total of 46 stringent social and environmental criteria must be met, covering a wide spectrum from wastewater to forced labour. Read more information here.
ClimatePartner certified product
By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects.
