Ideal usage
- D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.
Top-Features of Junior
Airstripes padding with ventilation channels guarantees the free circulation of air over more than 80% of the back thanks to the small contact area, but at the same time the backpack sits secure and compact on the back during all movements.
Backsystem
AIRSTRIPES
Secure fit
thanks to the streamlined ergonomics of the back padding and carry system.
Effective airflow
thanks to reduced contact surface of the back padding with special ventilation channels between them and breathable 3D mesh.
The benefits
The compact fit gives it stability, preventing load wobble over rough terrain. The padding with ventilation channels also has minimized contact surface, generating airflow across 80% of the back.

Made without intentionally added PFAS
PFAS, sometimes also referred to as PFCs, have been used in outdoor textile finishes for their water-, dirt-, and greaserepellent properties. Many PFAS are highly persistent and can accumulate in the environment over time.
Since 2020, deuter has used DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finishes without intentionally added PFAS. These finishes are selected in line with deuter’s chemical management requirements and applicable product safety standards.

Great for school, would love a larger version
Great little pack for daycare and travel. I prefer it to traditional school bags for the quality materials and lightweight but wish there was a 20+ L version for school. The kids need to carry a lot of gear (snow pants, lunch, agenda, water) to and from every day and it doesn’t quite fit everything. I looked at the climber which looks great for hiking but for school the hip belt is overkill and would be in the way.

Raincover and waist belt would have been nice.

Good product, colours could be nicer/more timeless.
