A sustainably made, bluesign® accredited product, this duffel bag is made from 50% recycled TPU body fabric that’s water resistant, making it perfect for active travelers. It has stowable shoulder straps that combine as a carrying handle. With a secure, lockable zipper on the main compartment, and with roomy internal compartments and side pockets, this duffel bag is deceptively spacious and quick and easy to pack and unpack. Internal compression straps keep contents in place during transit.

Ideal usage
- D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.

Flexibles und widerstandsfähiges Raumwunder mit Verbesserungspotenzial
Für meine einjährige Auszeit benötigte ich einen Reiserucksack, der in meinen Brompton-Fahrradkoffer passt, wenn ich diesen als Trailer mit dem Brompton ziehe. Der AViANT Access Pro 70, den ich bereits bereits besaß, war leider etwas zu groß dafür bzw. wegen des Federstahlrahmens nicht flexibel genug. Das im Oktober 2024 gekaufte Duffel Pro 90 erfüllte diese Aufgabe und im Wesentlichen auch meine Erwartungen. Es ist sehr flexibel und nimmt viel Gepäck auf, ist dazu wasserabweisend und auch bei den extremen Beanspruchungen im Flughafenumfeld sehr widerstandsfähig. Um das Bepacken und Tragen etwas komfortabler zu gestalten, habe ich einen großen stabilen Kartonzuschnitt eingelegt. Zum Negativen: Die Schnallen für die Schultergurte sind viel zu klein dimensioniert. Eine wurde durch die Zugkräfte hälftig herausgezogen. Leider habe ich das erst später bemerkt, weil die Schnalle durch den eine Riegel weiterhin verschlossen blieb. In der Zwischenzeit, in der der Riegel in der Schnalle verkanntet war, wurde der herausgesprungene Riegel leider verformt und sprang in der Folge das restliche Jahr immer wieder raus. In diesem Zusammenhang halte ich für einen Rucksack, der 90 l aufnehmen kann, die Zuladungsempfehlung von 12 - 15 kg einfach nicht für realistisch. Mit diesem Gewicht wäre das Duffel nur ca. zur Hälfte gefüllt und ließe sich damit nur noch wie ein instabiler nasser Sack auf den Rücken schnallen. Natürlich ist das als Reiserucksack genutzte Duffel Pro 90 kein ergonomisch geformtes Gepäckstück mit stabilisierendem Rahmen und Hüftgurt, doch bei 90 l Packvolumen und realistischem Gepäck für eine lange Reise sollten mindestens um die 20 kg angedacht sein. Und dafür wiederum müssen es viel größere, stabilere Schnallen sein, die halten und nicht herausspringen. Vor allem für den inzwischen sogar noch einmal gestiegenen Preis wäre das eine dringend erforderliche Verbesserung. Ich würde die Schnallen nach meiner Rückkehr vor wenigen Monaten gerne tauschen, doch als Laie ist das etwas schwierig, da man dann ja erst einmal die Gurte zerstören bzw. aufschneiden müsste. Und die sind ja weiterhin das Rückgrat des Duffel Pro 90. Das ist mir etwas zu heikel. Ich werde, wenn es mich wieder mit Faltrad und Reiserucksack in die weite Welt zieht, das Duffel natürlich erneut nutzen. Sollte ich mir zukünftig einmal ein neues kaufen müssen, wünschte ich mir, dass die Schnallen erheblich verstärkt worden sind.
