- > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.
Top features of the Freerider Pro 32+10
Innovative back system for a dry back
The deuter LiteSnow back system is ultralight, extremely comfortable to carry and water resistant. That’s down to the snow-shedding materials and design. The special shape of the back padding with spaces between the EVA foam covered in Spandex material that’s snow shedding and non-absorbent to moisture results in all-day-long carrying comfort.

Extendable capacity for better flexibility
For multi-day ski touring this roll-top backpack allows the volume of the pack to be adjusted to the load. With an extra 10 liters when required. The extendable volume is adjusted using the roll-top function in combination with two stowable straps used to compress the load as well as to attach a rope. Even at full capacity, the pack does not interfere with head mobility, which is another plus when negotiating steep terrain.

Optimized access for quick reaction time
A clamshell rear opening offers quick access to the main compartment, with the zipper running below the shoulder straps so they don’t get in the way during the zipping process. This also means you can leave your skis or snowboard strapped to your pack while rummaging in the main compartment. A dedicated avalanche compartment also provides fast access to equipment in the event of an emergency.

LITESNOW SYSTEM

Reduced weight
thanks to the lightweight construction and materials.
The Benefits
The special shape of the back padding with recesses covered in snow shedding material means snow cannot stick to it, which prevents moisture from penetrating, and results in all-day-Long carrying comfort.

bluesign® product
Consumer products that carry the bluesign® product label conform to the strict safety and environmental requirements of the bluesign® system criteria. The textiles and accessories used to manufacture the products with the bluesign® approved label are produced in a way that saves valuable resources and has a minimum impact on people and the environment.

Green Button certified product
The Green Button is a government-run certification label for sustainable textiles. Everyone who aims to purchase socially and environmentally sustainable clothes should look out for the Green Button. There is currently no other label like the Green Button. It demands that mandatory standards are met to protect people and the environment. A total of 46 stringent social and environmental criteria must be met, covering a wide spectrum from wastewater to forced labour. Read more information here.

ClimatePartner certified product
By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects. More information.

The shell fabrics are made of 100% recycled yarn
Thanks to resource-efficient production methods making recycled synthetic fibers generally requires less CO2, less energy and crude oil compared to newly manufactured materials. The body fabric is also bluesign® certified and manufactured according to the strictest standards for environmental protection, occupational safety and consumer protection.

Made without PFAS
This deuter product was manufactured by us without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals. This reduces the use of substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS is used, among other things, as a coating for rain protection, as they have water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
Instead, deuter now uses DWR (Durable Water Repellency) impregnation, which is harmless to health and environmentally friendly.
