With its innovative, 3D-printed back system, the Race 12 3D sets new standards in lightweight biking packs and blends cutting-edge technology with a sleek, compact fit. The EPU material of its Airstripes back system molds perfectly to the body and, in combination with the supple, proven Airstripes shape, ensures a solid fit and maximum ventilation – even on the most taxing trails. A sternum strap and mesh hip fins also keep it firmly in place through bumpy terrain. With bluesign® approved body fabric made of 100% recycled materials, and components made using environmentally friendly, resource-efficient manufacturing practices, the Race 12 3D meets the highest environmental standards. Pared down to the essentials, this bike pack benefits from an excellent comfort-to-weight ratio without compromising on stability or technical functionality.

Ideal usage
- D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

The EPU back padding material adapts perfectly to the shape of the body, and together with the snug vest-style shoulder straps and the part-elasticated sternum strap and elasticated waist belt, it creates a snug, compact fit on the back for the most technically demanding trails. The built-in back protector in memory foam provides reliable protection for the spine, which makes it suitable for enduro racing.
We’ve taken a well-balanced selection of materials, optimized the tailoring, reduced materials use to a minimum, and pared the features down to the essentials. The result is an especially lightweight yet durable biking backpack that delivers a great weight-to-comfort ratio.
This bluesign® product creates less waste through its use of 3D printing technology. And with its recycled body fabric, and components made using environmentally friendly, resource-efficient manufacturing practices, it meets the Green Button standard, is ClimatePartner certified, and made without PFAS – a clear statement of our commitment to sustainability.

By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects. Made without PFAS
This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.
PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.
deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.
The shell fabrics are made of 100% recycled yarn
Thanks to resource-efficient production methods making recycled synthetic fibers generally requires less CO2, less energy and crude oil compared to newly manufactured materials. The body fabric is also bluesign® certified and manufactured according to the strictest standards for environmental protection, occupational safety and consumer protection.
