300D PES Ripstop

Polyester (PES) is a synthetic synthetic fibre and is based on the raw material crude oil. Ripstop are fabrics that are woven using a specific technique and are particularly tear-resistant. A special texture allows the feel and sheen of natural fibres to be imitated. Conclusion: By using 300D PES RIPSTOP, our products are particularly robust and at the same time have a natural look.

300D PES Ripstop
600D PES

Woven from 600 denier polyester yarn and with a thick PU coating, this tear resistant and light fabric is highly versatile. Whenever it’s about keeping the weight of the backpack as low as possible with moderate stress, then this is the ideal solution. The “deuter Super Polytex BS” version is produced in compliance with the stringent bluesign® standard. Its features and stress factors are identical.

  • > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
  • > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
  • > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
  • > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
  • > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

AIRSTRIPES SYSTEM

AIRSTRIPES SYSTEM
AIRSTRIPES

Secure fit
thanks to the streamlined ergonomics of the back padding and carry system.

Effective airflow
thanks to reduced contact surface of the back padding with special ventilation channels between them and breathable 3D mesh.

The benefits
The compact fit gives it stability, preventing load wobble over rough terrain. The padding with ventilation channels also has minimized contact surface, generating airflow across 80% of the back.

This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.

PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.

deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.

Super Rucksack, fahre seit Jahren damit mit Notebook auf dem Rad zu Arbeit. Mein tägl. Begleiter. Great backpack, I've been using it to cycle to work with my laptop for years. My daily companion.

I bought this backpack for my first day of high school and had it for 10 years, until it was recently stolen. Great all-around backpack, which I have used for school, uni, travelling, hiking and other activities. I am very glad to see that Deuter have kept the great design and features, as I have not considered looking for alternative backpacks to replace my old one. Looking forward to having my deuter giga back. :-)

Es musste Ersatz her. I had the predecessor model, the Giga Bike, for many years, which is unfortunately no longer available. I was extremely satisfied with it; it did everything for me, carrying heavy loads daily on my commute and traveling with me not only on my bike but also around the world. Finally, it was worn out (broken zipper, buckles, hip fins). I needed a replacement. I did a lot of research and found Deuter to be the most convincing option again, but it's a shame that the current Giga isn't the same as the previous model. Compared to the old one, it no longer has an integrated rain cover (you have to buy that separately), fewer reflectors, and no straps to secure my thermos flask on the side (which I carry with me every day, and without the strap, it quickly stretches out and won't hold the flask anymore). But most importantly: although the dimensions are listed as exactly the same, the current Giga is smaller than my old one; it simply holds less. A real shame! If I could have my way, I'd want the old one back, ideally with the SL option for the female anatomy, which unfortunately is also no longer in production.
