For climbers, boulderers and mountaineers
Passion is our tradition
Deuter has been equipping professional climbers since 1938
In 1938, Anderl Heckmair was the first to scale the North Face of the Eiger. Even today, this achievement is considered a milestone in the history of mountain climbing. Deuter equipped him and his rope team with backpacks even back then. 15 years later, Alpine style pioneer Hermann Buhl was the first person to climb Nanga Parbat. We provided backpacks for this expedition as well.
Today, professional boulderers and climbers contribute to our product development. The Gravity series is the result of trial and error, lots of elbow grease and chalk, and continuous advancement.
Gravity Expedition 45
All the experiences of our expedition professionals…
…formed the basis for the development of this backpack – precisely tailored to their needs. In collaboration with Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner, Dominik Müller and Kazuya Hiraide, we created a minimalist, high-functioning companion for extreme undertakings – that, believe it or not, only weighs 870 grams!
Gravity Haul 50
What if extreme climbers had one wish?
Perhaps a haul bag and backpack in one? Voilà, here it is.
- With its robust and versatile construction, it is aimed at climbing pioneers and is ideal for challenging projects in Alpine terrain and big walls. Robustness is clearly the structural focus of this spacious haul bag/climbing backpack. The extremely stable material ensures that expedition equipment makes it up the wall safely. The thick 600D polyester fabric with its waterproof, abrasion-resistant TPU coating makes this backpack truly immune against sharp-edged rock. The crossed straps enable the rope to be securely retightened.
- The Gravity gets its secondary function as a backpack through the stowable carrying system with shoulder straps, back padding and spring steel frame. When folded up, the carrier system’s hood serves as a water-resistant cover for the upper backpack opening. An all-round zip at the back enables easy access to the entire contents of the bag. Several material loops, the solid base and an additional valuables compartment complete the technical features of this climbing backpack.
The hybrid of duffle and backpack combines the best of both worlds
It can be an uncomplicated companion on bouldering holidays, weekend trips or simply evening sessions in the climbing hall.
What’s special about the robust and compact climbing backpack is its intuitive handling. Put the backpack down, open the back zip – and all your equipment is open in front of you. For optimal organisation, it comes with two spacious side compartments that easily hold hiking boots, a first aid kit and drinking bottle. An extra valuables compartment holds your phone, keys, etc. Material loops on the inside and outside enable gear loops, a jacket or sleeping mat to be attached.
For comfortable carrying, the backpack uses the Comfort back system with ergonomic shoulder straps. Pleasant ventilation thanks to 3D AirMesh and a body-hugging fit make the Gravity Motion a comfortable companion on all climbing-related outings.
Nothing more and nothing less
Although reduced to the minimum in weight, it still has all the important functions, which makes it an ideal companion for all extreme conditions, rocks and ice. Mountaineers will love it.
The lightweight trekking backpack is made from robust high tenacity polyamide, which makes it highly durable. A PU coating on the backpack’s interior and a DWR coating make it water-repellent. The backpack is equipped with practical details that make it perfect for high-altitude tours. The wide opening can be closed and rolled up again quickly. Belts, which also function as a rope holder, fasten it to the backpack body. Stowable pick holders, gear loops, the reinforced grip and the detachable abdominal belt are practical features that prove greatly beneficial on technical terrain.
The lightweight back system with stabilising aluminium frame provides a pleasant weight distribution and body-hugging fit. The 3D AirMesh offers effective ventilation. And thanks to its supple, ventilating shoulder straps, the Gravity Rock&Roll will follow every demanding climbing move!
Gravity Pitch 12
A small, super lightweight backpack: the perfect companion for multi-pitch tours
The climbing backpack is made from lightweight and robust high tenacity polyamide, reinforced with a PU coating on the inside, and is water-repellent thanks to the DWR coating on the outside. Its slim, clean design makes it an unobtrusive companion that weaves its way with elegance through cracks and chimneys. The slimline, curved shoulder straps cling perfectly to the body and follow every move without a murmur. The two gear loops offer an additional option to attach any material next to the climbing harness. There are also practical details such as the spacious front pocket, the wet laundry pocket and the airy back system with 3D AirMesh.
