Description

The reduced contact surface of the deuter Airstripes back system and airy, quick-drying Air Spacer mesh against the back combined with perforated shoulder straps and hip fins ensure maximum airflow, even weight distribution and a snug, secure fit on via ferrata (fixed-rope) routes. A flat-format lid allows space for the head to move, even when wearing a helmet. Loops on the shoulder straps keep via ferrata set carabiners close at hand. And a large front zipper opening and side pockets mean equipment is always easy to access.

600D PES REC BS
210D PA REC BS

  • > D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
  • > PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
  • > PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
  • > REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
  • > BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

AIRSTRIPES SYSTEM

AIRSTRIPES SYSTEM
AIRSTRIPES

Secure fit
thanks to the streamlined ergonomics of the back padding and carry system.

Effective airflow
thanks to reduced contact surface of the back padding with special ventilation channels between them and breathable 3D mesh.

The benefits
The compact fit gives it stability, preventing load wobble over rough terrain. The padding with ventilation channels also has minimized contact surface, generating airflow across 80% of the back.

Made without PFAS

This product has been manufactured by deuter without the use of per- and polyfluorinated chemicals with the aim of reducing reliance on substances that are harmful to the environment and health.

PFAS are used, among other things, as a waterproofing finish due to their water, dirt and grease-repellent properties.

deuter now uses an environmentally friendly DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish that is harmless to human and animal health.

By increasingly adopting materials and technologies for our collections that have a smaller carbon footprint, we are taking positive steps toward reducing our CO² emissions. But despite our greatest efforts, it’s impossible not to generate any emissions at all. And so, we’ve teamed up with ClimatePartner to offset all unavoidable CO² emissions. From now on, when a deuter product is bought, the volume of emissions released by the manufacture and transportation of it will be compensated for through voluntary offsetting and targeted investment in select social and climate protection projects. Absolute Empfehlung mal auszuprobieren. Leaves nothing to be desired! I bought it from a local specialist retailer and take it with me on long hikes or into the Alps. Ideal for mixed tours that involve via ferratas or small glaciers. Enough capacity for all kinds of equipment and personal needs for a few nights in a hut. Above all, it's comfortable and adaptable! It's really an indispensable companion. I would definitely recommend trying it out.

The backpack is ideal for multi-day tours in the Alps. I even took it with me on a via ferrata – during the approach, I was able to attach my helmet to the outside and easily stow my via ferrata kit inside the backpack. The padding is very comfortable, and the hip belt optimally distributes the load to my hips. The spacious lid compartment, which allows quick access to smaller items, is particularly practical. Thanks to the additional front zipper, the top loader can be opened wide, making it easy to reach even items at the bottom of the backpack. My only criticism is the pockets on the hip belt: modern smartphones are now almost too big for them. However, if you have a larger phone, the compartments can be used for energy bars or other small items.
