The two-piece construction of this saddle pack for globetrotting bikepackers is made up of a lightweight, waterproof dry bag with a buckle closure roll-top and air-release valve, and a harness with a bungee cord and gear loops on the top, and a reinforced base which makes loading and unloading quick and easy during short rest breaks, because the dry bag can be detached while the harness stays on the bike. The two buckle straps and two hook & loop straps adjust to a variety of frame sizes and tube diameters, including carbon bikes.
Disclaimer: Sand, dust and incorrectly packed bags can make the paint in contact areas become dull or scratched over time. To avoid any chafing, you can protect the frame or rack with foam inserts or protective film before attaching bags or panniers.

Ideal usage
- D stands for Denier – a unit of measurement for yarn weight. 600D means that 9,000 meters of yarn weigh 600 grams. The higher the value, the more robust (and often heavier) the material.
- PES stands for Polyester. Polyester fibers are highly tear- and abrasion-resistant, easy to care for, and absorb very little moisture.
- PA stands for Polyamide (also known as nylon). Polyamide fibers are especially durable, elastic, and lightweight – ideal for textiles subject to high stress.
- REC stands for Recycled – the material is made entirely or partially from recycled resources.
- BS stands for bluesign®-certified – the material has been produced in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way according to the bluesign® standard.

The durable straps on these bike bags feature hook and loop fasteners for quick adjustments and secure placement. Lightweight materials make the bags suitable for carbon bikes, too. The packs come with spacers that make it possible to mount them on a variety of handlebar styles.
The two-piece construction of the handlebar and saddle bags makes for quick loading and unloading. During a quick break, the dry bag can be easily detached while the harness stays on the bike.
Hardwearing material, taped and welded seams, and TPU-coated zippers keep rain and spray out of these waterproof bike packs and off the pack’s contents when used as intended. More information.

Really practical and nice saddle bag. I used to have the 16.5 liter Ortlieb but that one does not have a harness, which makes it very hard to attach it to the bike when it is full (the weight makes it fall down while you are trying to attach the tiny straps under the saddle)... I sold that one. This Deuter is so much easier with the separate harness which is easy to attach when emtpy. I simply leave the harness on the bike overnight, and I take out the sack. So much less work. You do need to pack the sack a bit perfectly in the part that goes near the saddle pin, so that it fits neatly into the harness. The air vent makes it easy to squeeze the bag nice and tight so that it does not hang down or flop around. I also used the elastics on top of the harness a few times. I used it in heavy rain, with mud also spraying up from the wheel, and the sack and harness are definitely waterproof. I don't even notice that the bag is there. I have seen people complain that big saddle bags sway left and right but I have never experienced that sentiment. Very happy with this Deuter.
