What is your core sport(s)?
Biking (mountain, road, touring, cruisers) and Snowboarding

What other sports do you participate in or sort of fun do you enjoy?

Running, yoga, unicycling, puddle jumping, snowshoeing, sleeping outside, making things, brainstorming, exploring of all sorts

When/what was your first memorable "outdoor" experience?

My Dad used to take my siblings and me on hikes in the woods of New Jersey when we were young. We would bird-watch, collect bugs, catch turtles, and come home super dirty. I think this early exposure to nature definitely played a huge role in establishing my strong passion for the environment, adventure, and outdoor education.

What is your most epic outdoor adventure to date?

I recently finished riding my bicycle across America with my friend Carlie. We pulled trailers with all our stuff (and cursed at them often), ate ice cream for breakfast, met some of the kindest and most generous people I’ve ever known, cried more times than I care to admit, experienced the worse sunburns of our lives, rocked out to trashy, poppy radio through Kansas (don’t judge), got chased by wild dogs, laughed ‘til our stomachs severely ached, dodged small pterodactyl-sized insects in Missouri, and splashed our way into the Atlantic in a state of complete pride, amazement, and perma-grins after about 3,800 miles and 54 days of pedaling. When we finished, I swore I would NEVER do it again…and now, I miss it like crazy. It was indeed….epic.

Favorite food?

Salmon, brie, arugula, mango, natural chunky peanut butter, avocado, butternut squash, Mexican food, limeade, and…cake with lots of icing!

What is currently playing in your iPod or cassette deck…because cassettes are coming back, you know?

So, right after my TransAmerica bike journey I was listening to a pretty killer song that came on my friend’s ipod. I looked at the ipod to see what it was. The song was called “Bicycle” by Memory Tapes. Weird! Definitely one of those strange moments when the stars seemed to align. Check it out…great jam!

If I could do anything, I would most likely...
Change the world…by inspiring people to also want to change the world. Perhaps through environmental education. Or helping people become more aware, confident, and passionate through exploration of our world. Or perhaps by making art or inventing things. Let’s just say I have big dreams…

How do you take your coffee?

I prefer a soy chai.

What is your "go-to" Deuter product?

I love the Guide 40+ SL.  Great for snowboarding, mini backpack trips, spontaneous adventures, or airplane travel!

Do you like the nightlife? Do you like to boogie?

Like to boogie? DUH! Especially while putting my snowboard boots on, getting my bike ready at the trailhead, on road trips…pretty much anytime. Sometimes I even dance while running in the forest. I mean really…when in doubt, dance it out. As for nightlife…yes, I dig it. But I rarely let it interfere with my next-day adventures. Not a big fan of that.
